Hello again from the RealArcade Team,
As some of you know, we've been running a limited test of a new version of our service and website for the past several months.
Some of you are already using this new site and service. If you're reading this, there's a good chance that you're one of those people (HINT: if you go to realarcade.com and see navigation along the left side of the page, you're using the new version).
Based on your feedback, we've made some exciting (well, we think they're exciting ... hope you agree with us) changes to the new website. So, in just a few weeks, we'll have a "new, new website" up and running.
What's new? Well, funny you should ask that! We'll be posting some highlights, screen shots, and previews of our new site to this blog. Please check back for updates.
So, what do you think? Please post any questions/comments below and we'll do our best to answer.

So far, I like the new look and the funtionality I've noticed (i.e., the GamePass login). I have had a recent problem that I'm not sure is related: when I try to download a trial version of a game I get the pop-up dialogue box that says "verifying gameInitializer.rgi from gamebundles.real.com" ... then nothing happens! I've let it sit for quite some time already with no result. When I open my Win Task Mgr I see that it's running, but never get any change in the status bar. I have been forcing it closed from task manager, but also unable to download trials. Any feedback?
The only thing I noticed on the new site that I didn't care for was the missing my games tab.

I checked with our Director of Development. Here's what he said:
Wow! That’s a really strange one. That dialogue box seems like something a browser would popup… I’m not really sure ... Can you please ask the user for a few details: Do they have other games installed from the machine? What OS? Which browser? And if possible, the installer log file from c:\program files\realarcade\installLog.txt
If you can find this info, post it back here and I'll see what we can do to help you out.

The site that's up now is the "old, new" version. The "new, new" version will be up very soon and should address the issue. Also, we'll be posting more info and screenshots here, so watch this space.

I also had that problem with downloading game evaluations.It would say that verifying gameInitializer.rgi from gamebundles.real.com. Then it would throw me back to the real arcade site. Never downloaded the games. This lasted several months. I did contact real arcade support and followed their directions (which did no good at all).
This past weekend I decided to try again. Now it's working again the way it's suppose to. I have no idea what was changed on the site but I hadn't been able to do that since September.
I think I liked the old real arcade site better. But then, I'm old and don't care for change!!

Thanks for your comment. I think you'll like the "new, new" site MUCH better than the "old, new" site. We'll see!
As for "what changed" ... we had a couple of bugs that needed attention. Took us a bit longer than we'd hoped, but the changes finally went live a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure that that's what fixed your problem.

I love the new look and the mechanics of the new Website. Things are easier than ever to find, and I have had no trouble accessing either new downloads or my account. Thanks so much!
